I did make a mistake. Both of my German Lissies do not have body tags. I had one with a tag and sold her (she had issues and was not my original doll) The dolls are in order of newness with the top left one being the oldest and the bottom right being three years old. (my daughter's which we purchased from Katie.... she loves her!)

Yes, it's very interesting to see the differences, especially between the oldest and the newest. I can do something similar with Molly (I have 1987, 1989?, 1992, 1997 and a cropped head one made in China) if anyone would like that.

I am so glad that I am not the only oddball with doll timelines. I too have a series of Molly, Samantha and Kirsten. My daughter owns the new ones and the old ones are mine.

It really does help!! Glad to do it.

    Cherry,

I would love to see a Molly timeline. I don't have Molly, and plan to buy her from ebay one day.

I loved those Lissie pictures!!!! I liked the German ones better!!!! I love my mattel one, but would love to have a German one for my own collection. As I do not want the students touching German Lissie. Maybe next year I will spring for one.

If anyone could do it, I'd love to see timelines of all the dolls! Any dolls you have! I only have four and they are all really old (3 German + 1993 Addy) so I don't really get to see the new ones. I got a new Kirsten at a yard sale and she looked very different from my German Kirsten, but I forgot to take pictures before she was shipped to a seller. We were in a rush for Christmas. I have pictures of a approx. 1993 Samantha compared to my 1986 Samantha and they are so different in hair and eye color, but the face is the same. I heard the new Sam dolls are different still from those?

I'd appreciate any timelines you all could post! Someone needs to publish a book form of AG collector's guide with face/hair/eye close-ups and the like. Like the Breyer model collector's guides. Meg's guide is as close as it gets, and I'm sure grateful for that! If there were ever a book form, I'd buy it!

Me too. I'd buy a book like that.

I have a 1988 Kirsten, and I've saved ebay pictures, but you know how that is. Most of those that say they are 1988 don't look like my Kirsten.

I won an pre-mattel Kirsten in a lot, but I am not sure what year she is. By her being from ebay she could have a different head and body.

I don't have another Sam to compare to my 1989 Samantha but did copy an ebay picture from a seller that had one and it looked just like my Sam.

My dd is getting an Addy that we purchased at AGPC this year, and I can compare her to my 1993 Addy. But no timeline in between those two.
